Our Special Book Club Event: Anne Welsh's "Ambitious Mother"
We're *very* excited to invite you to our our second Flourish Market Book Club event on Sunday, September 13 from 2–4pm.
We'll be diving into Dr. Anne Welsh's debut book, Ambitious Mother. It's going to be a special afternoon exploring what it really means to be ambitious as a mother...anchored in permission, clarity, and honest conversation.
Anne is joining us in person, flying in from Boston, for a live conversation with Em about the book, motherhood, and everything in between.
Here's a bit about the heart behind the book:
Ambitious Mother asks a question so many of us are afraid to sit with...what are you actually ambitious for?
Anne calls it the Ambition Paradox, the real forces behind our overwhelm, and why it isn't our fault. She walks through the Three P's...perfectionism, people-pleasing, and pretending...and how they keep us stuck, and introduces a new framework called the Web of Ambition for designing a version of success that's actually ours.
The book includes a foreword by the incredible Robin Arzón, and has already earned praise from Eve Rodsky (Fair Play) and Neha Ruch (The Power Pause).
Anne has been a member of our flourish mastermind for three years now... and before that was an "afar bestie" who had shopped with us online from Massachusetts for years. Here's a little glimpse at the joyful and lighthearted dynamic between Anne and Em from a recent mastermind retreat...
Anne is a clinical psychologist, executive coach, and mom of four who earned her PhD in counseling psychology and worked at Harvard before starting her own practice.
Her work has been featured in Fast Company, Forbes, The Boston Globe, and more.
Watching her become a published author has been such a full circle moment for us, and getting to bring her into our space, in person, feels extra special.
